COSTA RICA
NOSARA
Mar 2026

Esencia

Esencia means essence. The core of something, stripped back to what truly matters.

Set on Costa Rica’s Nicoya Peninsula, Esencia (Nosara) is a surf-led retreat designed around presence, movement, and balance. Days begin with yoga and surf to set a grounded rhythm, followed by open afternoons for creativity, local exploration, and rest—jungle walks, cold plunges, art, journaling, and shared meals. Nosara’s warm water and consistent waves make it an ideal place to reconnect with your body, the ocean, and the group—at a natural pace, without pressure or excess.

[ HIGHLIGHTS ]

Four pillars that shape your days in Nosara

WAVES

Costa Rica is known for its consistent Pacific swell and warm water year round. In Nosara, Playa Guiones offers long sandy bottom waves with multiple peaks, making it one of the most reliable breaks in the country, with Garza providing a quieter option when conditions align. We surf almost every day of the week, adapting sessions to the tides, swell, and the level of the group, with a focus on time in the water, understanding the break, and building confidence day by day.

YOGA + SURF RHYTHM

Each day includes yoga and movement to support mobility, strength, and recovery alongside the surf. The house offers a separate gym casita and an outdoor deck for training or stretching, and throughout the week we integrate breathwork, a cacao ceremony, cold plunge, and one evening of music and movement in a way that feels natural and grounded.

SPACE

We stay together in a private villa set above the jungle with open views of the Pacific. The house has five bedrooms, open common areas that flow into the terrace and infinity pool, outdoor dining space, and a separate movement casita. It becomes our base for the week, hosting morning practices, shared meals, slow afternoons, and sunset conversations.

NATURE

Afternoons blend planned activities and free time, including snorkelling, horseback riding, beach walks, creative sessions, and one dinner out during the week. There is space to rest, explore, or simply slow down. The intention is not to fill every hour, but to spend a week truly living in Nosara.

[ YOUR GUIDE & YOGA INSTRUCTOR]

Diana

I’m Diana, the founder of Wave Atlas. A passionate surfer, storyteller, and traveller at heart, I’ve spent years exploring coastlines and building experiences that bring people closer to the sea and to themselves. From the beaches of Essaouira to remote breaks across the world, my work is rooted in connection, intention, and the belief that travel feels different when it’s guided by the ocean.

This project is my way of sharing the places, people, and waves that have shaped me, and creating journeys that might shape you too.
